Our Services

About

Jennifer McLean Interiors is a full-service interior design studio for new builds and renovation projects. We will guide you through all the project stages -- from the discovery call where we first learn about your project; to the execution of the design plan which includes space plans, elevations, millwork renderings and material spreadsheets. Your home is your sanctuary, and our goal is to realize each client’s unique, personal style.

Phase 01.

Discovery Call A short zoom or phone call to discuss your project’s broad strokes Scope of Work (SOW) detailing the design objectives, timeline, and budget.

02.

Design Consultation This will consist of an in-person site visit to the property to measure the space and take photos. At this meeting we will review your project details and what you want to achieve, your inspiration visuals, and discuss the project style and function. While onsite, we’ll do our best to answer any questions you may have. Following our meeting, we will provide a summary detailing the project SOW, budget, and design fees. We’ll also assign some homework and request that you share some images with us that inspire you and communicate what you would like to achieve with your project.

03.

Layout and Preliminary Concept The designers will generate an accurate floor plan detailing the space plan. Layout options for Phase 3 include a two-dimensional floor plan option detailing the recommended project footprint. We will also create a preliminary concept option that includes images to establish the look and feel of your project. Where applicable, the concept may include furniture ideas, suggested finishes and fixtures, millwork concepts, flooring, and lighting selections. For this phase, the budget includes 1 client meeting to review the layout suggestion and concept.

04.

Design Plan Based on the approval of Phase 3, Layout and Preliminary Concept, a plan detailing the next stage will be submitted for client approval. Each project is unique so the deliverables will vary by project but may include the following: Room Design Package: The plan will include 2D and 3D designs, elevations, finishes and fixtures, and furniture recommendations. We will also create a furniture spreadsheet detailing any new furniture and finishes, lighting, area rugs, window coverings and the paint schedule. Samples will be presented where applicable. The furniture spreadsheet will list all the pertinent details for your final records. Millwork drawings will also be included if applicable. The following elevations will be presented in the drawing package for the trades: Elevation Plans and Perspective Views for applicable rooms Millwork Concepts (assuming a custom option versus off-the-shelf) For this phase, the proposed budget includes 2 client meetings and 2 revisions of the plans where applicable. The goal of this phase is to provide a complete design package for the General Contractor.

05.

Overseeing and Implementation In this phase, the designers will work with the client’s chosen contractor to review all drawings, ensuring absolute clarity regarding the details of the project. The designers will work with the contractor to create a design schedule detailing the timeline for the materials, finishes and fixtures required and procure said materials for delivery to the job site. Shop drawings will be reviewed by the designers. Constant communication between the contractor and the designers will exist to confirm that every aspect of design is procured accurately. Any deviation from the design package will be discussed with the designers prior to executing. The proposed budget will include site visits by the designers, as requested by the client or contractor to review site conditions and progress, as well as email and phone communication where necessary. This phase will conclude when the construction and delivery of all fixture and millwork pieces are complete by way of a final site inspection.
